Bad Dentistry - Wrong Treatment for Tooth Infection

What follows below is a real case study submitted by a reader of this website. It describes how their health was harmed by bad dentistry.

I had a tooth that was dying.  The dentist said, "You need root canal work done on your tooth."  I had the work done and redone because there was pain.  After many years and education on my part, I told the dentist, "Just pull the tooth out."  When the dentist did this, a river of pus ran down my chin.  Soon the tooth next to the pulled tooth started to die.  I had that tooth pulled.  Then another tooth in the same area.  I went to several dentists and ask why my teeth were dying all in the same area.  They did not know but they offered a root canal.  I said, "No."  Our daughter found an organization that knows about dentists and how they work and I called that organization.  They recommended a dentist in Ohio who would not only pull my dying tooth but clean out the infection in the bone etc.  I went to Ohio and had the work done.  My bone looked like soup from the infection.  A few more dentists know about bone infections today but not many.  I should have had the dead tooth pulled right away.  After all, no other part of the body keeps a dead part attached to the body.  If one's leg is dead, they cut it off.  Well today the MDs are giving medication to keep dead bone from being destroyed by the body and replaced with good bone.  But that is another story.

It sounds like these teeth did not need root canals, that the infection was in the bone, caused by something else. Perhaps a bite that was off?

Why Bad Dentistry?

I decided to create an area on my website to focus on bad dentistry. Many people have kept quiet about the mistreatment of their teeth by dentists. I do not encourage people to avoid dentists, but in order to get people to go to the dentist, the dentist must provide excellent care. Unfortunately most do not. This list can help you find a good dentist.

Modern dentistry, in general, damages our teeth. It drills away too much healthy tooth structure. It places toxic materials in our mouths, and recommends treatments that don't last over the long term. Moving beyond bad dentistry means using the book, Cure Tooth Decay, to help you remineralize your cavities naturally.

You can submit a story about how dentistry has negatively harmed your life by sending an e-mail to: testimonial@curetoothdecay.com
Make sure to include the name you want posted on your testimonial, a little bit about yourself, and how you were harmed by bad dentistry. You do not need to remain silent about the harm done to your mouth. Because I do not want to be in the middle of any type of dispute I will not post the name of the bad dentist.
