Bad Dentistry - Dentist Didn't Remove Mercury He Said He Removed

What follows below is a real case study submitted by a reader of this website. It describes how their health was harmed by bad dentistry.

My testimonial name will be 'Yoga Gal'.

I was in my 20s,
female,
5' 4",
130 lbs,
living in Massachusetts at the time.

I don't 'have a thing' against dentists. You should know that. I've had typically very positive experiences with dentistry. I was raised to appreciate and respect my teeth, and to care for them the way the American Dental Association, and our trusted family dentist, recommended. And I did that.

Over decades of life and learning, well, I know better now. I know that the first step in tooth and gum health is our diet, and that a cavity is a sign something's not right in our diet and/or body chemistry. And that just like I don't believe in cutting off imbalanced body parts through surgery, I no longer believe in cutting off teeth (so to speak) through dental 'surgery'.

But I want to make the point, for readers, that I don't 'just have a thing against dentists' - it's the opposite in fact. Despite the fact that I no longer agree with what most dentists do, I generally love and respect them, and appreciate their good intentions and their good work. I now just wish with all my heart that every dentist was an expert in what I now know about genuine dental health.

That said, here is my worst-ever dental story:
I should have known by the way the dentist's eyes fluttered around, rather than meeting my own eyes, squarely. But I wanted to believe he was a good doctor, and trustworthy.

I did my research before I went. During our first visit, I asked him the right questions, and I let the doc know exactly what I wanted done: mercury removal. I paid him handsomely (many hundreds of dollars, over several weeks of visits) to do this dental work that I believed was absolutely vital for my health; to remove decade+ old mercury fillings. Key word: Remove.

Years later, I moved to another state, got set up with a new dentist who was highly recommended by friends, and went for one of my first visits. During the visit, this new dentist took the time to carefully check all my past dental work, and note everything. She discussed some of the teeth with me.

It was then that she revealed to me, and I discovered for the first time, that the dentist in MA had covered my mercury fillings. He had not removed them. He had taken white tooth-colored material and literally just buried the mercury inside several teeth inside my mouth. He had not done what I paid him to, what I asked him to do, and what he had confirmed he would be doing for me.

Why Bad Dentistry?

I decided to create an area on my website to focus on bad dentistry. Many people have kept quiet about the mistreatment of their teeth by dentists. I do not encourage people to avoid dentists, but in order to get people to go to the dentist, the dentist must provide excellent care. Unfortunately most do not. This list can help you find a good dentist.

Modern dentistry, in general, damages our teeth. It drills away too much healthy tooth structure. It places toxic materials in our mouths, and recommends treatments that don't last over the long term. Moving beyond bad dentistry means using the book, Cure Tooth Decay, to help you remineralize your cavities naturally.

You can submit a story about how dentistry has negatively harmed your life by sending an e-mail to: testimonial@curetoothdecay.com
Make sure to include the name you want posted on your testimonial, a little bit about yourself, and how you were harmed by bad dentistry. You do not need to remain silent about the harm done to your mouth. Because I do not want to be in the middle of any type of dispute I will not post the name of the bad dentist.
