Why Vegans Suffer From Tooth Decay

    Vegans Food

Many people believe eating a vegetarian diet is supposed to be healthy. Most vegans carefully select organic vegetables and fruits believing they are making the best possible choices of what foods they put in their body. I was once a vegan myself, and I believed that I was making the best choice for my health. However, the truth is that a strictly vegan diet lacks essential minerals and nutrients to build strong, healthy bones and teeth.

There are benefits to the vegan diet, as it helps cleanse the body. Many people feel rejuvenated and refreshed after going vegan. However, after the initial period of cleansing, the body lacks the minerals and nutrients it needs to build and sustain.

Vegans, especially those who only eat raw foods, find themselves suffering from tooth decay and cavities. Most are baffled why this occurs, especially when they avoid all processed foods and follow strict dental hygiene. The reason tooth decay occurs has little to do with cleaning the teeth and is actually the result of the nutrients we are putting in our body. Some vegans also consume high amounts of fruit. While fruit can be a healthy choice, too much can actually be a bad thing. Any sweet substance, even if it’s natural, can lead to blood sugar fluctuations that can result in tooth decay.

The body needs fat-soluble vitamins, calcium and phosphorus to prevent and heal cavities. Many of these nutrients are found in raw dairy products, grass-fed meats and wild fish. A vegan diet lacks these foods, which causes a lack of nutrients in the body. I do not promote a strictly vegan diet for this reason.

What can a vegan do to repair cavities and prevent tooth decay? There are some foods that a vegan can eat; however, I honestly recommend that you reconsider the choice to be a vegan. Our bodies need certain nutrients to be healthy, and we receive those nutrients directly through the foods we eat.

If you are vegan and only have one cavity, there are a few things you can include in your diet to keep your teeth healthy and try to repair the cavity. However, because a vegan diet is not the best way to get the necessary nutrients into your body, these tips may not work. Some recommendations for vegans are to include avocado, natto, coconut oil and nuts into their daily diet. You should also avoid eating large amounts of highly sweet fruits, including bananas, oranges, peaches, pineapples and grapes. Raspberries, kiwi and green apples are better choices, but they should only be eaten once per day. Grains should be freshly ground and fermented. Avoid tofu, granola and other foods that have high sugar content. If you have severe tooth decay, avoid all fruits and sweet foods.

If you have severe tooth decay and you are vegan, your body needs crucial vitamins and minerals immediately. So, my advice is to buy the book Cure Tooth Decay, and implement the recommendations in the book immediately.

La verdad no se por donde empezar.
Soy vegana y no tengo caries.
